Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (abbreviated ZUFE; Chinese: 浙江财经大学; pinyin: Zhèjiāng Cáijīng Dàxué; also colloquially referred to as 浙财; Zhècái) is a public university located in Hangzhou, China. The university specializes in economic disciplines and provides education in science, law, and the humanities. In the 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, ZUFE ranked 801-1000.

History
The university was founded in December 1974 as the Zhejiang Academy of Public Finance and Banking. It has changed its name and campus several times. During its first year, many students rented houses from nearby silk farms. In 1987, the State Education Commission renamed it the Zhejiang Institute of Finance and Economics. It was authorized to grant bachelor's degrees starting in 1991, master's degrees in 2003 and doctoral degrees in National Special Needs Service Personnel Training Projection in 2012. ZUFE received its current name in 2013, when it was approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.

Facilities
ZUFE includes three campuses: its main campus, Xiasha Campus, Wenhua Campus and Chang’an campus. Its accreditation allows enrollment of international students as well as students from Hong Kong and Macao. More than 24,000 full-time undergraduates and postgraduates study there. The university owns fixed assets as valuable as $1.647 billion, 10% of which are allocated towards teaching- and research-related equipment and facilities. It operates 71 specialized laboratories. The university library holds a collection of over 2.33 million volumes, 2035 academic journals, 4.67 million e-books, and 30,000 e-journals.

ZHEJIANG PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP

In order to attract more foreign students to study and conduct scientific research in Zhejiang universities, improve the level of foreign students and the quality of their education, and enhance their understanding and friendship of Zhejiang, the Zhejiang Provincial Government established the "Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students in China" in 2009.

1. Scholarship recipients

Foreign students who are about to study in our school or are already studying in our school, including postgraduates, undergraduates and long-term students.

2. Scholarship Categories

(1) Bachelor programs: RMB 20,000

(2) Postgraduate programs: RMB 30,000

3. Application Period

The provincial government scholarship is reviewed once a year, and applications are generally accepted from March to July each year.

Application Requirements

1. Basic conditions

(1) Applicants must be undergraduate students with a diploma or certificate equivalent to a senior high school graduate in China and must be under 30 years old.

(2) Applicants for master's programs must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, have letters of recommendation from two professors or associate professors, and be under 35 years old.

(3) Applicants for doctoral studies must have a master's degree or equivalent, have letters of recommendation from two professors or associate professors, and be under 40 years old.

2. Other conditions

(1) Applicants must have foreign nationality, hold a foreign passport, be friendly to China, and be in good health.

(2) Applicants must have good academic performance, no violations of school rules or regulations such as absenteeism, and no violations of Chinese laws and regulations outside of school.

(3) Applicants should have a certain level of Chinese proficiency and provide relevant proof, such as HSK certificate, other Chinese language learning and examination certificates, etc. The requirements may be relaxed appropriately for some majors that are taught directly in foreign languages.

(4) The applicant must be among the top students in his/her grade or class.

(5) Not receiving any other scholarship from the Chinese government.

ZHEJIANG UNIVERSITY OF FINANCE AND ECONOMICS INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

In order to encourage outstanding students from all over the world to study in our university and to improve the level and quality of international students, our university has established the "Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics International Student Scholarship".

Scholarship Types

1. For New Degree Students:

a. The special level covers 100% of the annual tuition fee of students' first year degree students;

b. The first level covers 70% of the annual tuition fee of students' first year degree students;

c. The second level covers 50% of the annual tuition fee of students' first year degree students;

d. The third level covers 30% of the annual tuition fee of students' first year degree students.

2. For Chinese Language Students:

a. The first level covers 70% of the annual tuition fee of students' first year degree students;

b. The second level covers 50% of the annual tuition fee of students' first year degree students;

c. The third level covers 30% of the annual tuition fee of students' first year degree students.

3. For Excellence International Degree Students:

a. The special level covers 100% of the annual tuition fee of students' first year degree students;

b. The first level covers 70% of the annual tuition fee of students' first year degree students;

c. The second level covers 50% of the annual tuition fee of students' first year degree students;

d. The third level covers 30% of the annual tuition fee of students' first year degree students.

a. Freshman Scholarship

In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must also meet the following conditions:

(1) A notarized certificate of the highest degree of education must be submitted. If the applicant is a student, a certificate of enrollment issued by the school he/she is attending must be submitted. Documents not in Chinese or English must be accompanied by a notarized Chinese or English translation;

(2) Must submit academic transcripts with excellent grades;

(3) Possess fluent listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Chinese (or English);

b. Scholarships for Degree Students

In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must also meet the following conditions:

(1) Must be officially registered at the school and have not applied for a leave of absence, retention of student status, or extension of study in the previous year;

(2) Obtained no less than 20 credits from courses taken in the previous academic year with excellent grades;

(3) Actively participate in various public welfare activities and social practice activities organized by the school or college

c. Individual Scholarship

In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must also meet the following conditions:

(1) Actively participate in various campus cultural activities and social practice activities organized by the school or college;

(2) Learn Chinese well and actively participate in various competitions at all levels;
